New Version 0.9.0.36 - Standard Box Joint Bug Fix

There were some bugs when cutting both the A and B boards together for standard box joints. The offset of the 2nd board was being taken into consideration, making the toolpaths for left hand joints offset by one finger width.
They are hopefully fixed in this version.

Test Version 0.9.0.35

If you don't mind, can anyone try this test version to make sure I didn't screw anything up. This version is for people in countries (regions) that use the comma as the decimal separator. JointCAM seemed to function fine with the comma, but the g-code would also use commas. This version replaces the...

New Version 0.9.0.34 - Standard Box Joint Bug Fix

I just uploaded a new version of JointCAM that fixes a bug with the box joint toolpaths. About a month ago, I had released another new version that I didn't publicize. JointCAM now has support for multiple heads and ATC's on ShopBot machines. This new version cleans also up some interface issues tha...

New Version 0.9.0.29 - through custom dovetail bug fix.

I just uploaded a new version with a bug fix for the pin boards for Through Custom Dovetails. If a joint was designed with only one pin and tail size, the pin board code would be incorrect.

Test Version 0.9.0.28 - New box joint type

I just uploaded a new version of JointCAM with a new type of box joint.
It's a half blind joint with rounded fingers. I've only made one test cut, but it came great.

Test Version 0.9.0.27 - New Interface

I didn't get any feedback on the previous version, so I went ahead and redid the entire interface. JointCAM can now be run at any size (up to 1920x1080) by dragging the lower right corner, or maximizing it. All controls will now stretch to fit the screen. This should accommodate larger font sizes in...

Test Version 0.9.0.26 - Large Font Test

I've uploaded a test version for the large font issue that several users have run into. Version 0.9.0.26 has a redesigned Configuration tab and Rounded Box Joint tab. These tabs will now grow and shrink with the JointCAM window, to allow all the text to fit without overlapping for those using large ...

Large fonts causing some controls and text to be hidden

Question for those having issues with large fonts.
What OS are you using?
I'm researching methods to fix this, but when testing on my PC with Windows 8.1, JointCAM scales properly with no issues.
Am I correct that everyone with this issue is running WIndows 7 or XP?

Test Version 0.9.0.21

I added an option to allow cutting joints at the positive end of the machines axis, typically the back side or back end of the machine. To do this, on the Configuration page, check "Use Positive Offset Origin" and enter the location of the origin in the X and Y axis Offset boxes. I'll try to get the...

Re: Feedrates?

I think it has to do a lot with the rigidity of the machine, and the depth of cut. Because the toolpaths contain mostly short moves, with a lot of directions changes, going fast can cause the machine to shake, if it's not rigid enough. I usually program between 75 and 100 ipm, (13,000 rpm) and then ...

Test Version 0.9.0.20 - with rounded box joints

It took me a while to get this working, but I think it's functional. I plan on flipping the preview for the rounded box joints, as right now they are kind of backwards. But I wanted to get this uploaded today first. No User Guide update for the rounded box joints yet. I'll start on that this week as...

Re: G55 Macro

I didn't get a chance to upload the version with the offsets, but if you copy the link to the development version 0.9.0.17, and replace the 17 with 18 you can download it. After installing it, go to the Configuration tab and enter 0 or the actual values in the offsets, and click Sacve Settings. If t...

Re: G55 Macro

What control are you using? G55 is a work offset, not a macro. You should be able to just enter the offset values into the control. However, I do have a new test version that allows you to enter the coordinates of your fixture (starting point) if its not at 0,0. I can upload it later tonight if you ...

Test Version 0.9.0.17 - with box joints

I uploaded a development version with box joint capabilities. They should be fully functional with one exception. There are options for A, B, and A+B boards to be machined. The A+B option will not output any code. No manual or docs yet, but it should be self explanatory. I haven't run any box joint ...
