Shopbot Desktop max new owner

Post by connalj »

Hello all,
I am new to the CNC world and I have shopbot max (24" x 36") and am very excited about creating customer joinery. Shopbot currently sells a edge clamp joinery jig (see below link) for close to $400.00.

That seems like a lot so I was hoping someone could steer me in a much cheaper direction. Unless you think it is a superior way to go by purchasing their product.

I am very open to any advice someone (anyone) has to offer me as well. I joined this forum to be educated:-)

Regards,
Connalj

If you want to save money, look at all the videos on Youtube of people cutting dovetails, and look closely at the fixtures they've made.

Buying the Shopbot fixture is going to be a much easier route, but also the most costly.

I chopped a hole through mine and used a couple planks to fit it out. Cheapest way possible. It simply lifts out and reverses to put the fence on the other side.
