Trying out different things and wanted to try and replicate the Incra double dovetail. I got close but did not think about the second dovetail being a half blind so my first cut was too deep. Finished it off with another through dovetail instead.
The program is great. Now that my machine is setup and I have learned JointCAM settings I was able to do this with no test cuts.

Awesome.
At some point I have plans to do a tutorial on double dovetails. But I have a lot on my plate right now.
Do you find that you need to adjust the Clearance setting? On my machine I use a setting of -.002 to get really tight fitting joints. I think this may vary with different bits, though.

On the through dovetails i used a clearance of +.002 and it is still pretty tight. On half blind i needed -.002 using the same dovetail bit.

hey successful login! JohnB I think those dovetails are great but do you have any pictures of your vertical vise holddown? great job
Re: JointCAM Dovetail
Thanks.
Here are some photos of my setup along with a couple other dovetail tests. I first tried holding the material with bar clamps but it was not solid enough and I got tear out. Adding the maple bars across the material prevents any movement and made the joints much better. The recoil bars on the CAMaster are perfect for this.
